The Homeless Ministry of Texas Baptist Church is another great tool used in reaching people of San Antonio with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Each week, Assistant Pastor Tony and his wife, Tina, and a team of soul winners go downtown to Haven for Hope (which is one of the largest shelters in the state) to meet people, talk with them, pray with them, lead them to Jesus Christ and invite them to church.
Sunday mornings, they pick them up and bring them to church where they have a service with spirit-filled, practical bible-preaching, and a nice home-cooked meal prepared by our ladies. The purpose of this ministry is to see hundreds of people saved and countless lives changed and that is exactly what has happened in the last 4 years since the start of this ministry. Bro. Tony has a passion and a heart for the homeless, as he was once a homeless addict himself.
"It is a great joy to see someone we meet on the street come to church, get saved and baptized, then watch their life transform through the power of the gospel."
